Volodymyr ((ウクライナ語:Володимир)) is a Ukrainian male given name. The name is a direct descendant from the Old East Slavic Володимир (Volodimir), which is spelled identically in Cyrillic, but transliterated differently because of changes in the Ukrainian alphabet since medieval times. The meaning of the name is "possessor of the world, peace". Volodia (Володя), Vova (Вова) are short versions of this name. The same Slavic sources also produced the Russian and Serbian variant Vladimir, as well as the Danish Valdemar and the German Waldemar. ==People known as Volodymyr== * Volodymyr the Great (aka St. Volodymyr, Volodymyr I of Kiev, also "Vladimir"), Grand Prince of Kiev * Volodymyr II Monomakh, Grand Prince of Kiev * Volodymyr III Rurikovich, Grand Prince of Kiev 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「Volodymyr (name)」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
